Energy Centre Manager - Power Engineer

Under the direction of the Director, Capital & Property Management, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of our client, the Manager, Energy Centre is responsible for the operation and maintenance of a First Class Plant, the Pneumatic Tube system, Vertical Transport systems, Diesel generators and the Physical Plant of the Research Centres.  The Manager, Energy Centre is also responsible for ensuring that all such work is carried out, with minimal impact on patients, staff, physicians, and the public as well as working within defined operating budgets.

This position is involved in the development of physical activities within the Planning Department and acts as a member of the Hospital’s capital project review and commissioning team.  The incumbent will participate on appropriate Hospital wide and external committees, and professional associations, and perform other related duties in conjunction with the Director, Capital & Property Management.

Education & ExperienceManitoba 1st Class Power Engineering Certificate.
Completion of a recognized technical program.
Additional Management courses would be an asset.
A minimum five (5) years related experience in the operation of a first class power plant in a large hospital or related operation.
Previous supervisory experience would be an asset.
Knowledge of construction and operating requirements for hospitals or clinical research facilities, or similar.
