Payroll and Benefits Manager

You are an energetic and motivated individual who enjoys being part of a team in a dynamic, ever changing and fast paced environment.

As a key member of the Accounting and Finance Team, you will provide accurate and timely processing of all compensation for all People Corporation divisions and be responsible for the administration of the group benefits program.

The Role:


You will process payroll for all divisions including salaried employees, sub-contractors and commissioned employees;
You will be responsible for managing accounting entries for various fixed, variable bonus and commission programs;
You will administer of the Company’s Group Benefit Programs including sign-off and approval of invoices;
You will administer of the Company’s Employee Share Ownership Plan;
You will prepare all payroll and benefit related journal entries;
You will maintain the headcount reports for review by Financial Reporting on a monthly basis;
You will prepare the monthly headcount variance report – highlighting areas of concern, budget discrepancies, and other variances;
You will manage new hire process including development of Employment Agreements - to ensure consistent standard approach is taken as allowable;
You will process the quarterly compensation for the Board of Directors.;
You will develop and maintain a policy for processing new hires, terminations and records of employment;
You will be responsible for the reconciliation and filing of annual T4’s, T5’s, T4A’s and T2200 returns;
You will respond to payroll, benefit and filing enquiries. Escalating concerns to Director of Accounting and Technology;
You will assist in the creation and maintenance of the Company’s payroll and HR policies & procedures;
You will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements;
You will maintain current and accurate employee files (employment offer letters, employment agreements, contractors, vacation requests, and sickness recording.);
You will develop and maintain employee tracking policies & procedures;
You will administer semi-annual employee review process;
You will administer annual bonus and salary review process; and
You will be responsible for the consolidation of payrolls.

You and Your Experience:

You have earned your designation as a Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) or are near completions;
You are customer service focused;
You have excellent oral and written communication skills;
You have excellent problem solving and organizational skills;
You are able to meet deadlines and provide deliverables as identified;
You are able to work as part of a team in a fast paced, rapidly changing work environment; and
You have the ability to prioritize.
