Nurse Practitioner - Gillam, MB Full-time (1.0 EFT) $41.97 to $50.75 per hour

As an integral part of the interdisciplinary team the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing care to individuals and specific client groups in accordance with evidence based knowledge and advance nursing practice.  This role includes clinical practice, consultation, education, leadership, research and the development of quality improvement initiatives. 

The position also requires the Nurse Practitioner to promote health and prevent illness and have an understanding of the principles of Population Health including the determinants of health.

The Nurse Practitioner practices within the BRHA’s philosophy, policies, and guidelines.  The Nurse Practitioner will be eligible for the Extended Practice Registry with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.    The Nurse Practitioner will follow the standards of practice with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba for Registered Nurses on the Extended Practice Register and the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics. 

                 

Position Requirements:

Ÿ   Graduate degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program.

Ÿ   Registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba.

Ÿ   Meet the requirements for registration as a Registered Nurse (Extended Practice) with the CRNM.

Ÿ   Have several years experience in primary health care, in an advanced nursing role.

Ÿ   Proficient in a current word processing program.

Ÿ   Leadership, critical thinking, organizational and communication skills are required.

Ÿ   Have expertise in developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with a broad range of individuals and partner organizations.

Ÿ   Self-motivated.

Ÿ   Work in a collaborative practice model.

Ÿ   Is culturally competent and respectful of diversity (e.g., economic and social status, race, and First Nations people).

Ÿ   Knowledge and respect of Aboriginal culture and language and experience in working effectively with First Nations people.

Ÿ   Good physical and mental health to meet the demands of the position.

Ÿ   Must possess a dependable, consistent and reliable work record including attendance at work.

Ÿ   Ability to incorporate BRHA core competencies into working practice (Customer/Client Focused, Initiative & Pro-activity, Diversity Awareness, Teamwork and Collaboration, Development of Self and Others, and Adaptability).
