Regional Supervisor, Administration
Location: Winnipeg Manitoba

We are a national third-party administrator providing administration and consulting services to pension and benefit funds, and we are seeking a qualified individual to assume the responsibilities of Regional Supervisor for our Winnipeg location.

About this position
Reporting and taking direction from the Director, Operations, this position will be responsible for all aspects of administration related to the region. While ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained, the incumbent will provide effective leadership/supervision to the office and its unionized staff, and perform other related activities of the multi-jurisdictional benefit plan trust funds. At times, the Regional Supervisor will receive direction from the Account Managers, the Acting Regional Manager, and the National Manager, Benefit Administration on specific work assignments.  This is a permanent, full-time opportunity, in a fast paced, challenging work environment.

Responsibilities:


Supervise the day to day operations of our client benefit plans in the region

Maintain appropriate process controls and operations metrics

Recommend change for improvement to the Director, Operations, ensuring effective administration, quality service and regulatory compliance

Implement new procedures where appropriate and as directed

Read and absorb a wide range of complex and detailed information

Communicate job and performance requirements to staff

Supervise, motivate, train, and assist regional office staff in accordance with company policies, practices, and employment laws while ensuring that relevant HR procedures are followed

Promote teamwork amongst all regional office staff

Develop and maintain a professional relationship with plan advisors, union representatives, members and employers

Interact with Account Management in addressing client and members issues, and provide feedback and information as required

Suggest improvements with IT-based administration systems

Keep confidential communications with plan members and plan sponsors (‘clients’)

Keep up-to-date on new and emerging administration issues and legislation

Suggest improvement of services in response to member and client feedback under the direction of the Director, Operations

Prepare and distribute required government filings

Oversee data integrity, including entry and destruction

Assist the Director, Operations, and perform other duties/projects, as required and assigned

Has an aptitude for figures and strong attention to detail, with a high level of numeracy and IT literacy.

Ability to supervise and direct staff

Proficient in MS Excel and Word

Knowledge of AS400, or similar system, would be an asset



Education and/or Experience:


Experience in benefit plan administration, claims and eligibility

A general understanding of government regulations, accounting principles, and relevant legislation

Experience with member relationship management

Related post-secondary education, certification, (“CEBS"), or similar designation or hands on experience in a similar TPA, or Insurance environment

2 + years’ experience within Benefits – Health, Wellness and Retirement Plans

1 - 2 years’ experience working with third party vendors

1 - 2 years’ staff supervisory experience in a unionized environment (ideal)
