Agronomic Advisor

We are seeking an Agronomic Advisor, who will be accountable for generating consulting revenues and managing and delivering agronomic consulting services as part of the lead with Distinctive Value Solutions strategy.

The successful candidate will work directly with the sales and consulting team to provide agronomic and crop production solutions for farm customers. By providing superior technical information and consulting service, this will help farm customers make the best decisions for their business.

These services will differentiate the company from competitors, leading to stronger business relationships with customers, and in turn, resulting in incremental sales and margin opportunities.


  • Degree in Agronomy or related discipline OR diploma in Agronomy or related discipline plus equivalent work experience.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada on a non-temporary basis.
  • Minimum of 1 year of field and industry experience.


  • Manage and deliver comprehensive agronomy services (e.g. CropSense and FieldSense) to help farm customers grow better crops through making sound crop production and risk management decisions in the areas of precise agriculture, crop planning, nutrient, weed, disease, insect and harvest management.
  • Coordinate with the Sales Representative, sell agronomy services to farm customers in order to achieve revenue budgets; work with the Sales Representatives and location teams to identify and prospect Agronomy Service customers.
  • Provide leadership, direction and training to Agronomic Interns; coach and share best practices with other Agronomic Advisors.
  • Provide technical support and be an agronomic resource for the location team; attend crop input supplier meetings, facilitate workshops, and provide input for crop reports and crop input strategies.


  • Degree in Agronomy or related discipline OR diploma in Agronomy or related discipline plus equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of field and industry experience.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills.
  • Technically sound in agronomy.
  • Eligible for membership with the Provincial Institute of Agrologists (future requirement will be to obtain CCA accreditation).
  • Strong sales aptitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a non-temporary basis.


  • Strong understanding of Agronomic Services, farm customers and the agriculture industry.
  • Strong understanding of the crop inputs business and the significance of supplier relationships.
  • Solid understanding of the Canadian agricultural production and farm management.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
