Burntwood Community Health Care Nurse IV - Burntwood Community Health Resource Centre

Full-time (1.0 EFT) Term until October 30, 2009“Maternity or Parental Leave of Absence Term” which may expire sooner than indicated,
subject to minimum notice of two (2) weeks or one pay period, whichever is longer.
 Department:  BCHRC                                                                       Salary: $37.297 - $46.725 per hour Qualifications and Technical Competencies:Ÿ         Have a Bachelor of Nursing degreeŸ         Eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)Ÿ         Certification with the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) in Community Health Nursing or other related specialties, preferredŸ         Have a minimum of 2 years of experience, which includes recent community health and clinic nursing; experience working within diverse acute medical/surgical care settings in the past five years and/or experience working with marginalized populations, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceŸ         Specialty knowledge and experience relevant to the primary health care practice setting, community development and patient population focus·         Ability to integrate and apply CRNM standards of nursing practice to the context of a primary health care setting·         Demonstrated ability to determine and deal with changing, emerging, and emergency situations with patients in a flexible and adaptable manner·         Demonstrated ability to facilitate and build effective interdisciplinary relationships with physicians, other disciplines and community partners that foster team environments·         Working knowledge of facilitation, mediation and conflict resolution techniques·         Demonstrated case management, teaching/training, clinical support and consultation skills·         Excellent organizational, communication, client interaction, interventions, and interpersonal skills·         Is culturally competent and respectful of diversity (e.g., economic and social status, race, cultures, belief systems, sexuality)·         Knowledge and respect of Aboriginal Culture and experience in working effectively with First Nations people·         Proficient in computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Publisher and various databases·         Possession of a valid Manitoba Class 5 drivers’ license·         Good physical and mental health to meet the demands of the position·         Must possess a dependable, consistent and reliable work record including attendance at work·         Travel in northern Manitoba through various means
