This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with proven experience and expertise in developing and putting in place organizational development, employee and management training, and leadership development programs. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources & Organizational Development, the Manager of Organizational Development will provide leadership to, and partner with, senior management, managers and supervisors in the delivery of strategic organizational development planning. This management position will see you fulfilling the role of organizational change leader, incorporating Human Resources & Organizational Development strategic goals into business change improvements.

Your duties and responsibilities as Manager, Organizational Development, will involve providing expertise and leadership in Corporate Organizational Development, Training & Development, and Human Resource Information System & HR Reporting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Design and manage the corporate organizational development process, addressing such matters as Succession Planning, Management and Employee long- and short-term Development Programs;
• Lead in the strategic process of organizational needs analysis, identification of business /process gaps and the preparation and presentation of Change Improvement Strategies for internal clients, as well as prepare change improvement strategy and plans for internal clients;
• Provide leadership in change management and the processes involved in creating improved outcomes;
• Support Managers and employees in understanding and embracing new organizational structures and relationships;
• Utilize your strong project management skills to ensure the timely development and delivery of Organizational Development programs and projects;
• Lead in identifying senior management and employee training needs, be responsible for the development of all employee career development plans, and coach and mentor senior management in their development planning;
• Identify appropriate Leadership Development Program courses and programs;
• Identify and select vendor(s) for all corporate training programs;
• Manage and maintain all HRIS system reporting in support of the corporate Performance Management program; and
• Prepare ad hoc reports for client managers.

REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE INCLUDE:
• Bachelor’s degree (required) or master’s degree (preferred) from an accredited university in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business or a closely related field,
• 5 years of leadership experience in developing and implementing programs in organizational development, employee and management training, leadership development, coaching, process facilitation, organizational intervention or other areas aimed at strategically improving the performance of an organization and its employees, or any substantially equivalent combination of training and experience.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Thorough knowledge of organizational development theories, concepts and practices;
• Thorough knowledge of the methods and procedures used in developing and implementing training and leadership development programs;
• Strong strategic thinking skills;
• Skill in dealing effectively with both individuals and groups at all levels on a variety of work-related issues and influencing them to change their behaviour;
• Ability to mediate resolutions to problems within and across department lines to improve organizational effectiveness;
• Ability to manage a variety of programs;
• Ability to work equally effectively in team-based environments as well as on tasks, which require high levels of initiative, autonomy and independent thought and action;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees; and
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a diverse population.


We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including a Northern Living Allowance per annum and relocation assistance. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.

This position is located in Baker Lake, Nunavut

This position is excluded from the Nunavut Employees Union. This competition will remain open until filled.
