Human Resources & Volunteer Coordinator

As a Human Resources professional, you ensure that the people of an organization are set up for success. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources & Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the entire volunteer management program as well as providing Human Resources support.


The Role:


Recruit , interview and hire volunteers as well as administer volunteer orientation;

Ensure data, evaluation and recognition of volunteers’ accomplishments are maintained and managed;

Coordinate annual volunteer recognition reception;

Act as a liaison between the staff, volunteers and community at large;

Manage recruitment and retention programs;

Enter and maintain information in the internal applicant system;

Interpret and apply a variety of regulations and procedures within the area of labour relations; and

Participate in special projects as assigned.


You and Your Experience:


You have post-secondary education in Human Resources;

You have 3-5 years experience in a Human Resources generalist role;

You have a strong passion for community;

You love to learn and are always looking for ways to further develop your skills;

You are detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;

Your organizational skills are superior and you are able to manage multiple projects at the same time;

You have a high proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); and

You always make it a priority to keep abreast of current changes in human resources legislation and practice;

Ideally you have had experience working in a unionized environment and have an understanding of Labour Relations;

Though not required, having experience with a Not-for-Profit organization with a focus on volunteers is an asset.
