Regional Controller
Are you ready to take the lead in your accounting and finance career? This western Canadian heavy manufacturing company is looking for a senior accountant, with a professional designation, to oversee the accounting functions of three site offices and provide financial reporting to the District Controller. The ideal candidate for this position will use his/her extensive financial reporting knowledge to improve the company’s accounting and financial processes.
What you will do:
* Handle consolidated financial reporting for assigned region
* Research technical accounting issues (i.e. stock-based compensation, impairment and acquisition costs) to help improve accounting and financial policies and procedures
* Manage client relationships
* Train and mentor accounting staff
* Other projects, as assigned
Must haves:
* Professional accounting d esignation (i.e. CA, CGA or CMA)
* Proven leadership and employee management abilities
* Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
* Experience multi-tasking effectively in a fast-paced environment
* Strong phone etiquette and listening skills
* Exposure to U.S. GAAP an asset
