The Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) is the self-government representative that promotes the political, social, cultural, and economic interests and rights of the Metis Nation’s Manitoba Metis Community.  In addition, the MMF delivers programs and services to our community including, child and family services, justice, housing, youth, education, human resources and natural resources.

 

The MMF Community Housing Managers of Manitoba (CHMM) Department seeks to fill one full-time Property Manager position located in Dauphin, MB. The salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.

 

PROPERTY MANAGER

 

Under the direction of the Housing Director the incumbent works as part of a team to ensure the efficient and effective management of the assigned portfolio(s).  The incumbent is responsible and accountable for the coordination of all activities within their assigned portfolio, including the operating budget, maintenance of buildings and grounds, leasing, rent collection, vacancy management, tenant relations and representing CHMM in matters related to the Residential Tenancies Branch.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Metis culture;
  • Knowledge of MMF programs and services;
  • Knowledge of Social Housing issues and programs is a definite asset;
  • Accredited Residential Manager and/or Real Property Administrator designation (or enroll in and complete);
  • Five years experience (or combination of training and experience) working in a property management environment including budgeting/finance, property/building maintenance and systems, contract administration, tenant management and administration;
  • Five years experience in the use of computers and software applications;
  • Three years of progressive supervisory and human resource management experience;
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently or with others and work effectively under pressure, with minimal supervision;
  • Demonstrated competence to communicate articulately and effectively, orally and in writing;
  • Demonstrated administrative, organizational and time management skills;
  • Demonstrated accomplishment in mediation, negotiating, conflict resolution and coaching;
  • Knowledge of Residential Tenancies Act and PHIPPA/FIPPA; 
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Manitoba driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel.

 

Note: Written tests may be administered on aspects of knowledge and skill set requirements during the interview process.

 

Preference will be given to qualified Metis applicants.
