The Mortgage Specialist will be employed by Equip Financial and will be responsible for working cooperatively with leads provided by Equip Distribution staff and generating their own source of leads. The Mortgage Specialist will report to an Area Sales Leader. The Mortgage Specialist is a non-broker commission sales position selling from their database of over 50 lenders.

COMPENSATION:
Compensation is based on a commission structure.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES:
The successful applicant will contribute to the overall success of Equip by working in a team environment selling mortgages to meet their clients’ mortgage needs.

The Mortgage Specialist is expected to build mortgage business through referrals and their own network.  It is anticipated that the Mortgage Specialist will generate a target of approximately $10,000,000 in annual mortgage sales.

The Mortgage Specialists will demonstrate an ability to develop new and creative ways to reach their work objective , which is critical to success, as well as the ability to develop a work plan, manage their time and focus their efforts daily on reaching established targets.


1. Generate business from Equip referrals and through external self-sourced clients (friends/family)

2. Conduct regular telephone meetings with clients and joint meetings with the client or offer to meet with the client at their home if necessary. Be available to phone or meet clients at times that are convenient for them ( i.e in their home or at their office).

3. Support branch employees in developing and managing the overall client relationship.

4. Interview and take applications, obtain all pertinent personal and credit information, confirm employment, salary and source of down payment and submit application with recommendation for approval.

5. Actively promote the sale of our Mortgage Insurance product.

6. Once the Mortgage Specialist is established, they should meet and exceed mortgage sales targets of $835,000 in mortgage production monthly

7. The incumbent will ensure compliance with all Equip regulatory training and work to ensure these programs and policies are applied consistently across the business. The incumbent will be personally responsible for compliance with all such regulatory and governance programs.

Requirements:

1.Strong Prospecting Ability: Must be able to develop your own sources of mortgage referrals from a variety of sources (i.e. Realtors, Builders, Financial Services Companies, etc.)

2. Self Management: Demonstrated time management and planning skills with an ability to organize the day with activities that contribute to the overall goal of Mortgage Production.

3. People Person: Applicants should have a genuine liking for people and know how to get them to like you. Meeting new people and working with a wide variety of personalities effectively should come naturally to the successful applicant.

5. In-depth experience in Real Estate Lending and knowledge of underwriting guidelines, highly desirable.

6. Proven verbal and written communication skills.

7. Must be extremely flexible and adaptable and love working in a fast-paced business environment with changing priorities.
