Industrial Technical Advisor, RCO

NRC Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP)

Various locations across Canada

These are two 2.5 years term positions with the NATIONAL RESEARCH COUNCIL CANADA. 


Your Challenge

The successful candidate will deliver the Digital Technology Adoption Pilot Program (DTAPP) services across the region as well as nationally and will be involved in helping Canadian SMEs adopt digital technologies to increase productivity.


Your credentials



University degree in a related discipline applicable to the position of interest (Business Administration, Science, Engineering) combined with significant industry work experience at a senior level.

An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be accepted.



Must have recent, extensive experience and direct responsibility for management of technology adoption, preferably in the area of information and communication technologies with a record of successful implementation; and recent experience in:
-        assessment of organizational (SME) needs with respect to the introduction of technologies for productivity improvement in; and / or
-        use and application of performance/productivity diagnostics and benchmarking tools.


Must have recent experience in a variety of industrial sectors in at least two of the following:
-       analysis, implementation and adoption of technologies within SME(s);
-       mentoring and advising SMEs in the adoption and management of change;
-       business process re-design.
-       selection process and generation of requirements, project and supplier management, contract negotiation, requirements specification and acceptance testing for digital technologies;
-       SME management.


Salary:  Compensation is determined based on qualifications, plus the Bilingual Bonus of $800 a year to the candidate who meets the language requirements. In addition, an incumbent occupying a position within the RO/RCO Groups is currently entitled to receive a terminable allowance of $8,000 per year.
