Director Of Sales

Our client is a leading farm equipment manufacturer who, through steady expansion, new products and acquisitions, has historically experienced solid growth; currently operating several modern manufacturing plants and distribution centers.

Reporting to the President, the Director of Sales will be a key member of the leadership team.  A highly motivated self-starter, you will be responsible for ensuring the company’s reputation as a leader in their field. You will oversee the coordination, functional management and leadership of all sales activities.  You will be responsible for developing, executing and evaluating annual targets and for ensuring that customer satisfaction remains the company’s primary goal. You will manage and maintain key customer accounts through contract management and negotiation while driving all new business development opportunities throughout North America and overseas.


Responsibilities and duties will include:


·        Development and implementation of forecasts, and budgets for all markets, as well as sales plans and strategies to support business plans,

·         Meet sales goals and targets

·         Oversee inside sales, service, and service parts department

·         Inventory control, setting prices and calculating margins

·         Direct staff to generate annual sales budget by customer and by product

·         Create new business for the organization

·         Maintain and develop international markets

·         Identify sales inputs required to deliver a quality product to meet the customer standards

·         Oversee 17 direct reports

·         Direct activities of company field sales personnel

·         Direct and manage department staff including annual reviews

·         Develop, nurture and reinforce a culture of teamwork within the organization

·         Travel nationally or internationally



  • University degree or diploma in Business Administration, Agriculture or a related discipline
  • Strong track record of building and leading high performance sales teams nationally or internationally
  • Experience implementing sales programs, with 5-10 years experience with a proven track record in sales of high value agricultural equipment
  • Understanding of wholesale and retail pricing and with competitors
  • Ability to target, plan and execute initiatives
  • Highly effective facilitation and presentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate
  • Solid business acumen, and problem-solving skills and 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Experience with rebranding or market positioning is highly desirable
  • Ability to work in self-directed, fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong MS Office skills
