Department: Acute Care (Med/Surg/Peds) Salary: $31.816 to $40.218 Under the direction of the Director, Health Programs, the Program Manager, Acute Care will provide the day-to-day leadership for the acute in-patient program at the Thompson General Hospital (Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics).
Qualifications and Technical Competencies:· Two (2) years demonstrated successful management experience in health care;· Current registration with CRNM or be eligible for registration;· Diploma or degree in Nursing;· Experience in Clinical Nursing Practice, Primary Health Care, and Financial Management.§ Demonstrated ability to work alone and as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team.§ Demonstrated ability to foster an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment that supports quality, patient care/quality improvement and an empowered practice model.§ Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.§ Knowledge and respect of Aboriginal Culture and experience in working effectively with First Nations people.§ Proficient in computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, and various databases.§ Possesses knowledge of the principles of organization, leadership, management standards, and health care in Canada
§ Possesses current comprehensive knowledge of and/or skills in: population health promotion, disease prevention, research, critical appraisal of research literature, program planning and evaluation, and adult education principles.
§ Have a valid driver’s license.§ Good physical and mental health to meet the demands of the position.§ Evidence of professional development.§ Also includes the BRHA standard Core Competencies as listed in the position description.§ Must possess a dependable, consistent and reliable work record including attendance at work.
