Full Time Evening Shift – 3 Month Medical Term

                                                              Pay:  $16.70 /hr Plus shift premiums   The Main Street Project, Inc. offers a range of services for adults in the core area of Winnipeg who are experiencing poverty, ill health, homelessness and substance abuse. 


An evening shift Crisis Worker is required to provide a range of services to a largely disadvantaged client population in the core area of Winnipeg. This position can lead to permanent full time.


Job Duties:


1.     Provide services in the various areas of M.S.P. as required:  Crisis Centre, Emergency Shelter, Detoxification, Intoxicated Persons Detention Area.

2.     Monitor the physical safety of clients in the above areas.

3.     Conduct street patrols; intervene in critical incidents.

4.     Respond to crisis calls and provide emergency transportation to hospital or other appropriate service.

5.     Provide emergency services, counseling, referral, shelter, and first aid.

6.     Maintain concise reports on all client contacts and/or incidents through a computerized client-tracking system.

7.     Adhere to all procedures as detailed in the Main Street Project Procedure Manual (under revision).

8.     Demonstrate an understanding of staff’s role in helping people help themselves.




·        Grade 12 or equivalent (post-secondary education or training an asset)

·        Valid driver’s license

·        Demonstrated ability to work well with clients, other service providers and members of the public

·        Good assessment and counseling skills

·        Proven organizational and communication skills




16.70 per hour Plus Shift and weekend premiums
