Purchasing Manager

Our client is a full-service Audio Visual Equipment provider that specializes in Audio Visual System Installation, Rentals and Product Sales, Video Conferencing solutions, Presentation Equipment & Products, and Event Rentals & Staging Solutions.   They have been providing Western Canadian business, Governments, and Educational Institutions with professional AV products and services since 1969 and are a proud member of PSNI, a North American-wide Audio Visual Systems Integrators organization.


Reporting to the President, the Purchasing Manager is responsible for implementing and managing all procurement activities for the branches.  Responsibilities will be to:


·         Implement procurement strategy and policies.

·         Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and customers.

·         Lead the procurement group in all phases.

·         Identify and develop training opportunities.

·         Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.

·         Maintain procurement files.

·         Track Purchasing activity and measurements.

·         Manage vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships.

·         Assist department in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for products.

·         Responsible for planning, developing and buying materials, parts, supplies and equipments in a timely and cost effective way; timely manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications.

·         Dealing with suppliers and brokers.

·         Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the supplier.




·         Post secondary education preferred

·         PMAC or APICS certification

·         3 – 5 years experience at a senior procurement level

·         Excellent Microsoft office skills

·         Experience with Sage Business Vision is an asset
