The Shift Supervisor will perform the following duties:
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate workflow, develops strategies and oversees all production activities in the plant
• Employee safety and security in the plant is a priority.
• Responsible for the effective and efficient planning and scheduling of personnel and equipment to reduce bottlenecks and problems.
• Directly supervise, support and motivate plant staff
• Coordinate and manage all inventory supplies to ensure minimum waste and spoilage.
• Monitor quality, accuracy and timeliness of all job orders to meet customers’ expectations.
• Adhere to production control records, delivery dates, and schedules,
• Report operation issues to management.
• Attend daily production meetings.
• Assist in the development, growth, and mentoring of employees.
• Maintain and support the highest standard of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
• Contribute to the cohesion and productivity of the Company by forming cooperative and constructive working relationships with all staff.
Required Qualifications:
• Three or more years of solid printing industry experience including exposure to prepress, press, packaging applications would be an asset.
• Two or more years of supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office Suite including outlook, Word, Excel.
• Knowledge of all facets of print production including prepress, press, copy and data centers, post press functions and manufacturing systems, and quality control.
• Knowledge of IT technology and process implementation.
• Experience working on project teams defining business workflow and its integration with a print management information system as it pertains to packaging for consumable products.
• Familiarity with printing enterprise applications such as front end customer relationship management, plant facing manufacturing management systems as well as distribution applications.
• Working experience utilizing reporting tools such as Globetek.
• Knowledge of business management principles in a non union environment.
• Knowledge of printing equipment and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
