Our client, a highly successful Manitoba based company is currently expanding their Winnipeg operation and is seeking an innovative Web Application Developer (Ruby on Rails) to join their organization. The incumbent will be responsible for developing new and maintaining existing enterprise applications built in Ruby on Rails. The successful candidate will be trained in Ruby and the Ruby on Rails framework as well as in agile development using Scrum. And will have two plus years experience developing web applications using Object Oriented Programming practices utilizing an open-source MVC2 patterned framework in Java, Python, PHP, PERL or C#. Excellent knowledge of MySQL (or equivalent) and SQL with experience in source control management systems. Skilled in developing web applications for business in a team environment and familiar with system analysis, architecture, design, development, and testing. He/she must be self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload, and meet important project targets. As the ideal candidate you will maintain and enhance existing enterprise application in Ruby on Rails and build new web applications as required by the business in Ruby on Rails. A degree/diploma preferred in Computer Science or equivalent field of study with three to four years experience.
