Community Mental Health Worker-Child/Adolescent Full-time Permanent
Job details:
Based in Thompson, the Community Mental Health Worker promotes the mental health of individuals through the provisions of direct clinical services, consultation, crisis intervention, rehabilitation, and public education. You may provide these services individually or as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to clients and their families. Your work schedules will include evenings and weekends. Qualifications and Technical Competencies: (Refer to Core and Job Family Competencies for further details)- B.S.W. or B.M.R., and two years directly related experience; or R.P.N. with active R.P.N.A.M. registration and two years directly related experience; or other qualifications and directly related experience deemed equivalent.- A valid drivers license and vehicle- Minimum of fours years Community Mental Health experience, or suitable combination of experience and education.- Well developed communication, organizational and coordination skills with competency in community development and health promotion.- Ability to understand and integrate concepts of consumer empowerment and recovery.- Ability to function effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary mental health team.- Ability to practice independently.- Demonstrated leadership skills.- Demonstrated organizational ability / critical thinking.- Well developed interpersonal skills.- Group facilitation skills.- Ability to manage many projects that have a wide variety of complexity and size.- Must possess a dependable, consistent and reliable work record including attendance at work.
