MANITOBA METIS FEDERATION INC. The Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) is the self-government representative promoting the political, social, cultural, and economic interests and rights of the Metis Nation’s Manitoba Metis Community. In addition, the MMF delivers programs and services to our community including: child and family services; justice; housing; youth; education; human resources; economic development and natural resources. The MMF Natural Resources Department seeks to fill one full-time Policy Analyst located at the Winnipeg Home Office; remuneration is negotiable. 


The Natural Resources Analyst assists in the development and implementation of Metis policy initiatives and programs in the Natural Resources field as it pertains to supporting Metis rights and interests under Section 35 of the Constitution and as directed. He/she provides services and support to the department within the MMF’s policy and guidelines; as well as, participates in a variety of working groups and delivers presentations at conferences and workshops as required.  Extended travel may be required.  

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor degree in natural resources management or equivalent experience and training
  • Knowledge of computer word processing, spreadsheet programs, and Geographical Information Systems (GIS)

        ·     Knowledge of Natural Resource Law and Administration · Knowledge of community economic and business development ·  Ability to lead discussions and to make presentations to small and large groups 


  • A minimum of five (5) years Project Management Experience
  • Experience or training in quantitative data analysis
  • Two years experience in natural resources in a management and administrative role ·  Experience in negotiating with federal and provincial departments ·  Experience in policy development · Experience implementing strategies for major projects, developing cost analysis and projections
