Human Resources Generalist


Job details:

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist plays a key advisory role in the Human Resources department.

The Human Resources Generalist provides recruiting and selection, training and development, employee and labour relations, and cultural development advice, assistance and consultation to other departmental leaders. They will also maintain information in the HRIS and time keeping systems and complete biweekly payroll runs. In addition to keeping current with all applicable laws and regulations, this role requires the individual to adhere to and enforce all established policies and procedures. The Human Resources Generalist will have excellent communication skills and will maintain positive relationships between the management team and employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Maintain positive working relationships with employees and the management team

Aid departments in recruitment efforts by performing interviews, screenings, and recruitment for all job openings

Ensure the compatibility of applicants to job positions

Plan, organize and attend recruitment fairs as requested

Advise and assist departmental managers on the interpretation and administration of policies, programs and best practices

Oversee adequate orientation and training within the organization

Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with providers

Handle all employee concerns; investigate employee concerns and questions ensuring all concerns are followed through from beginning to end

Administer and record employee recognition and incentive programs

Plan and organize staff events and recreational activities

Coordinate and update intranet site

Ensure effective exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations

Maintain accurate, up to date and complete personnel records

Refer all inquiries to the appropriate individuals, divisions, or departments across the organization

Organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and files in their proper locations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


CHRP designation or working towards designation preferred

Post secondary diploma in Human Resources Management

3 - 5 years' Human Resources experience

Ability to work well under pressure, individually and as part of a team

Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills
