Regional Director, Human Resources / Shared Services Operations

vOur client in the Winnipeg area is seeking a Regional Director for HR Shared Services Operations.


In partnership with the Regional Director, HR Shared Services Projects & Business Support, lead the development and implementation of the HR Shared Services strategy, call center, structure, and road map that will evolve and improve the shared services vision and model in HR administration and technology.

Lead, coach, and develop the HR Shared Services team to improve capability, foster best practice, and deliver optimal results that align with business direction and affordability. Engage with members of the team about their individual performance, career aspirations, and development needs.

Collaborate with other leaders in the HR Portfolio to set strategic and operational goals, plan and prioritize work, and align resources to execute that work.

Collaborate with the Regional Director, HRSS Projects and Business Support, HR Business Partners, other functional areas within Human Resources, and leaders within units including IT, Audit, Finance, Sustainment, and Facilities Management to redesign, streamline, and integrate work processes and practices to ensure seamless service delivery to business.

Establish key performance and service level agreements with internal clients that will steer operational efficiency, effective service delivery and positive constructive client relationships.

Lead the operational implementation of compensation and benefits administrative provisions within collective agreements, practices, plan texts and programs that support and incent commitment to business strategy.

Enable optimized talent and organizational strategies based on workforce analysis and predictive analytics.

Drive the transformation of HR systems, call center and transactional services with a focus on quality, customer service, innovation, automation, lean continuous quality improvement, and employee self-service.

Lead the functional implementation elements of any major organizational change initiatives to upgrade the HR Information System.


Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience within a large complex organization and industry, preferably in a unionized environment.

Excellent understanding of HR accountabilities, programs and services, with experience working within a shared services model and call center operation.

Strong working knowledge of information systems, with implementation and integration experience preferred.

Ability to challenge the status quo to achieve business goals, manage innovation, and help others adapt to changing circumstances.

Pragmatic and action-oriented leader, with an outstanding service orientation, a sense of urgency, ethical practice, and a high-level of personal integrity.

Ability to work well under pressure, with strong organizational skills that enable the management of multiple conflicting priorities and fixed deadlines.

Experienced, empowering leader, capable of making difficult decisions yet open minded, flexible, and willing to work with others including his/her team to carve out a vision, strategy, and operational tactics.

Creative, solution-focused problem solver, with the energy and tenacity to work through a complex system with multiple challenges.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build relationships and influence all levels of the organization.
