Remote Camp Kitchen General Help

Occupation: Camp Based Kitchen General Help

Location: Northwestern Ontario (+/- 6 hours from Winnipeg)

Start Date: Immediate

Starting Wage: $14 / hour (OT after 44 hours per week)

Hours per Day: 8 – 10

Rotation: 28 Days in Camp 14 Days out of Camp

Transportation Costs: Paid (bus or shuttle)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The General Help position includes:

 

  1. Dishwashers

  2. Dining Room Monitors

  3. Food Prep

 

 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment and utensils, including floors, walls, and storage rooms.

  • Assist with meal preparation and presentation, according to established methods and guidelines.

  • Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program.

  • Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and programs as required.

  • Monitor prep requirements for line and functions

  • Maintain proper food rotation

  • Monitor food par levels and replenish as required

  • Washing of all cutlery, china and glassware

  • Cleaning of all pots and pans, etc.

  • Keep dishwashing equipment clean, safe, and organized at all times

  • Removal of all kitchen waste to central garbage container or garbage room

  • Keep garbage container area or room clean

  • Clean loading dock area and floors leading to the area clean at all times

  • Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.

  • Hose-out garbage cans.

  • Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand.

  • Scrape food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine.

  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by use of hand cart.

  • Set up tables.

  • Load or unloads trucks picking up or delivering supplies and food.

  • Perform other duties as required by the Executive Chef or Designate

    Skills Needed:

 

  • Must be neat, professional and well-groomed.

  • Must be dedicated to exceptional external and internal guest service.

  • Ability to work under stressful/pressure situations.

  • Positive attitude and outgoing personality are essential.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods.

  • The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands and fingers; reach with the hands and arms; and talk or hear.

  • The employee is required to live on site at the Camp location during their usual shift rotation.

    Role requires ability to work shifts
