Due to growth, we are seeking an e-Learning / Instructional Designer to join our Learning & Development Team in Vernon, BC.

The Position:

Key Components of the role include:

Instructional Design and Development (70%)

 

 

Designs and builds e-learning courses using Adobe Creative Suite

 

Designs and writes instructor led classroom and live virtual training programs using advanced adult learning and performance improvement methodology

 

Creates all learning materials including facilitator guides, participant guides, assessments, job aids, etc.

 

Collaborates with video production crews to develop interactive multimedia content for online training

 

 

 

Instructional Analysis and Evaluation (20%)

 

 

Analyze client needs, and/or instructional goals and objectives to determine appropriate methods of instructional design for both instructor-led and e-Learning programs

 

Conduct needs analysis, identify learner performance gaps, make recommendations for improving/revising existing training classes and programs

 

Pilot and evaluate instructional materials and processes to assess their effectiveness and contribute to the revision process

 

Measure learning program effectiveness through level 1-4 evaluations

 

 

 

Learning Improvement (10%)

 

 

Leads team efforts to research and implement technology solutions for use in learning programs

 

Acts as in-house expert on learning and employee performance strategies, seeks to continuously drive improvement across L&D team services

 

Develops training knowledge and skills in colleagues

 

 

 

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has:

 

 

A minimum of 4 years’ experience designing training for all delivery modes, including e-learning, face to face Classroom training, and live virtual classrooms. 

 

The candidate should bring a cutting edge perspective to the Learning and Development profession through the willingness to use tools and methodologies that align with a multi-generational workforce.

 

 

 

Technical Experience 

 

 

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Excel)

 

Adobe Captivate (must have).

 

Adobe Creative Suite, including:

 

 

Photoshop

 

Adobe Premiere

 

Adobe After Effects

 

Adobe Audition

 

Adobe Edge

 

Adobe Acrobat

 

Adobe Connect, WebEx (or similar platforms)

 

SharePoint

 

 

Video and audio editing (Adobe Premier, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, Audacity)

 

Knowledge of social media tools and their use in on-line learning

 

Mobile Learning tools and standards

 

Knowledge of Learning Management Systems

 

 

 

Education & Experience 

 

 

Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Adult Education, Training, Instructional Technology, or Instructional Design.

 

CTP or CTDP designation preferred

 

Minimum of 4 years designing e-Learning and virtual classroom training programs

 

Strong consulting and communications skills

 

Experience working in multinational corporation

 

Experience writing storyboards and scripts for video production crews

 

Advanced knowledge of adult learning methodology

 

Bilingual (English and Spanish) would be an asset

 

 

 

Other Requirements

 

 

Ability to complete a company onboarding program, which includes completing short rotations in our field locations (stores, mining sites, etc.).

 

Occasional travel – up to 15% of time
