Wastewater Treatment Operators - Days

Job details:

Wastewater Treatment Operators  -Days

Level II & Level III’s

Wishing for a true “weekend off” where you don’t have to be on call?
Want to work days so you can spend time with family/friends?
We have an opportunity for you that may pique your interest!

The R.M of Headingley is expanding their team and is searching for two (2) Level II or higher Water/Wastewater Treatment Operators who have strong mechanical aptitudes, want the autonomy to work independently when needed, and enjoy working in a small community.

Because of its proximity to Winnipeg, Headingley boasts big city amenities and services, yet provides their 3,500 residents with a slower paced, intimate community life. Hospitals, large shopping centers, and a wide range of professional services are a quick drive from Headingley.  Headingley itself has a wide range of local business that meets the community's needs. Insurance, credit union, accountants, financial planning, convenience stores, and several restaurants, contractors and a k-5 elementary school are just some of the services the town boasts. Another perk?  Headingley has a low residential tax and no business tax!

Working for the town of Headingley means joining a dedicated group of employees known to work hard and show their passion for caring for the community and our environment through safe and diligent practices!  With all the sophistication of a large plant, Headingley’s plant was built in 2011 and has an operating capacity of 1,00 cu.  The smaller size of this plant gives you direct opportunity to work on a variety of equipment!

Key responsibilities:

  • All aspects of operation and maintenance of a level 3 SBR MWWTP as per license issued by MCWS.
  • Daily inspections, monitoring and maintenance of all equipment relating to the wastewater utility system.

  • Prepare and submit reports to regulating authorities to ensure compliance with operating permits issued by regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure all significant operational events as well as daily operational activities are recorded properly and communicated well.

Education and Experience:

  • Level II Wastewater Operator Certification, and the ability to obtain Level III Certification with 12 months.
  • Minimum 2 years (for Level II) or 5 years (Level III) experience in the operation of a Class 1 or higher facility
