Complex Needs Coordinator required for our St Paul, Alberta location.

The Complex Needs Coordinator manages the development and delivery of Complex Needs services for individuals in a community setting for the agency, in accordance with the agency's philosophy, policies and procedures.
(You must have all qualifications in order to be considered for this position)

Degree or Diploma in Community Rehabilitation and relevant experience

Demonstrated ability to supervise staff in an environment of service delivery to individuals with complex needs.

Five plus years’ experience working with people with disabilities (Complex individuals) and their families, community resource specialists and multidisciplinary support teams.

Exceptional organization and communication skills

Valid Driver’s License

Valid First Aid and CPR


Development and organization of Complex Needs Services in a community setting.

Is aware of, and ensures, the basic human rights of clients are respected

Ensures the provision of quality services

Evaluate and identify training requirements of staff.

Ensures Restrictive Procedures Protocols are followed.

Knowledgeable in regards to funding contracts.

Liaise with agencies to develop best options for supports.

Participates in the development and review of strategic, fiscal and operational plans

Develops and organizes services and programs offered by the agency, in accordance with the agency's strategic and operating plans

Develops and manages operating budgets for programs, and monitors budget performance

Provides effective support and evaluation of staff, including annual performance appraisals of staff.

 Reviews and/or develops training plans.   

Assists in the recruitment, selection and orientation of new staff.

Promotes staff competence through staff training and development programs.

Make recommendations to Director regarding wage increases, termination of employees, etc.

Attends appropriate committee meetings when necessary.

Submits required documentation for Director (i.e. Monthly management reports).

Ensures the development and implementation of initial and ongoing funding requests.

Coordinate all referrals in conjunction with the Residential Director and Client Service Coordinator.

Attends Case Conferences, Service Planning meetings and Program Reviews as required.

Ensures all documentation and reports are updated and maintained in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures.

Review and track time sheets.

Review contracts between S.P.A.N. and other community or Government agencies.

Monitor standards to ensure they conform to CET Standards.

Attend Management Level meetings as requested/scheduled by the Executive Director.

Provide support and advocacy for clients.

Establishes and maintains open, timely and appropriate communication and relationships with  clients, families/guardians, community and other staff.

Ensures timely development of funding proposals in conjunction with Residential Director and families.

Liaises with other agencies on behalf of the individuals receiving services.

Prepare and implement a client satisfaction survey at least annually.

Assesses the needs of people with disabilities or ensures it is done.

Prepare promotional material as determined necessary.

Recommends changes to agency's policies and procedures.

Ensures proper lines of communication are followed.

Attends program meetings as required.

Participates in staff training as required.

Follows guidelines regarding restrictive procedures.

Understands and respects confidentiality of information.

Other duties including but not limited to (as determined at yearly performance.

Salary: 55,000-60,000 annually
