Clinical Team Leader

Native Women’s Transition Centre provides 24/7 long term residential safe housing including programs and services for Aboriginal Women and Children who have experienced victimization through interpersonal relationships and/or systemic neglect.  

Under the supervision and direction of the Executive Director, and in accordance with Centre policy, standards, philosophy and goals, the Clinical Team Leader works with the management team and is responsible for successfully leading and developing the programs and services of NWTC including  implementation, service delivery, evaluation and reporting.

The Clinical Director will provide clinical supervision, education, and leadership to our multi-disciplinary team. Oversight includes but is not limited to developing ongoing individual and group clinical supervision sessions for staff, developing and facilitating appropriate case management tools, interventions, skills and techniques in keeping with NWTC’s mandate. NWTC’s services are to be designed to enable Aboriginal women to achieve change and growth. As such, it will be the responsibility of the Clinical Team Leader to ensure that all supports and programing are facilitated in a manner that promotes self-awareness and encourages self-worth and self-determination within clients and NWTC staff. The Clinical Team Leader will also work in collaboration with NWTC staff and Executive director in ensuring, maintaining and promoting cultural proficiency, programming supports and services.

 This is a full-time position, working Monday – Friday 8:30-4:30 with 3:30-11:30pm shift rotations and salary based on experience and qualifications.  A complete job description will be made available upon request.

 Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social work or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and work experience, and a minimum of 3 years of directly related work experience in social service and clinical case management.
  • Strong and extensive working knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of historical trauma, individual trauma and vicarious trauma in relations to Aboriginal peoples and families, and staff.
  • Strong understanding of and the ability to implement Trauma informed case management supports and services.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with urban Aboriginal women struggling with addictions with particular emphasis on women involved with the justice system.
  • Strong understanding and appreciation for Aboriginal culture and traditional ways of healing.
  • Extensive knowledge of community resources particularly those which support women.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written.
  • Experience in writing proposals.
  • Experience in managing program budgets.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office.
  • Flexible in order to respond effectively and positively in diverse relationships.
  • Strong team player that fosters positive rapport and team work.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Highly motivated, energetic and self-motivated.
  • Maintains a high level of independence and self-initiative.
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications or willing to obtain certification.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Must Provide a Current Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check for Employment Consideration; and upon employment complete the Corrections Services Canada and Provincial Justice Security Clearance.
