As Purchasing Manager, you will maintain relationships with current vendors and suppliers, while overseeing the purchasing process. You will be responsible for identifying cost reduction opportunities, while maintaining optimal inventory levels. Success in this position will depend on your experience in an ERP (SAP) environment and/or your willingness to learn.

What you will do:
* Lead contract negotiations with key suppliers and service providers, identifying areas for cost efficiency
* Procure various commodities based on production needs
* Manage suppl ier relations: resolve quality, delivery and billing issues and strive for continuous improvement
* Perform supplier facility and performance audits
* Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and material shortage problems
* Issue requests for quotations (RFQs) to prospective suppliers, focusing on competitive pricing
* Ensure business processes comply with ISO 9001 and other standards

Must haves:
* 7+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
* Proven success negotiating contracts and achieving sustained cost reductions
* Excellent ability facilitate effective communication between internal groups and suppliers
* Certification from an accredited purchasing association (PMAC, APICS) an asset
* Post-secondary education related to purchasing an asset
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
